uniquely qualified to handle your case.

Drug Crimes

Drug crimes have been vigorously prosecuted ever since the War on Drugs in the 1970s. Drug crime convictions have led to some of the longest prison sentences in American history. Almost half of those incarcerated in the federal prison system are related to drug crimes.

Why Choose the Defense

How Can a Phoenix Drug Crime Attorney Help Your Case?

In the last reporting year, Arizona made nearly 4,000 drug-related arrests and prosecuted 80 percent. Most charges were for possession or concealment.

Never take drug crimes lightly. Whether you are under suspicion, being investigated, or have been charged, state and federal prosecutors will often stack charges to maximize penalties.

Violent offenses paired with drug crime charges can lead to some of the longest prison sentences available.

Involving a Phoenix drug crime attorney as soon as possible is your best defense. As former prosecutors, we know to investigate every aspect of your arrest for holes:

  • Did law enforcement exceed the scope of their warrant?
  • How reliable is the agency’s informant?
  • Was there probable cause for the warrants? Wiretap? Search and seizure?
  • Will the drug evidence stand up to an intent to sell or trafficking charge?

Can I Be Charged with a Drug Crime
for Marijuana in Arizona?

While recreational marijuana is legal in Arizona for those 21 and older, you can still be charged with possession under certain circumstances.

Possessing 1 ounce or less of marijuana or 5 grams or less of marijuana concentrate is legal. However, even half an ounce more and you could face a drug possession charge.

In addition, it is illegal:
  • Drive under the influence of marijuana
  • Give marijuana to a person under 21 years of age
  • Smoke marijuana in public and open spaces

Federal law still charges the use of marijuana as a criminal offense.

How Does Proposition
200 Help My Case

Proposition 200 (e.g., the Arizona Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act) is an important statute that offers leniency to drug offenders if they did not commit a violent crime. The Act is a major step to reducing unnecessary incarceration for non-violent offenses.

However, if you are convicted of a violent crime while under the influence of drugs, Proposition 200 requires your sentence to be carried out fully without the possibility of parole.

A Phoenix Drug Crimes Lawyer
is Standing By

If you have been charged with a drug-related offense, it is crucial that you remain polite, cooperative, and silent. Exercise your right to remain silent and ask for an attorney.
